The Bardeezans were a spacefaring species by the late 24th century. In 2370, a Bardeezan merchant ship stopped at Deep Space 9 before flying to the Gamma Quadrant.

Bergen is a city in Norway. William Samuels was born in Bergen in 2327. He would eventually relocate to the Federation colony on Volan II before becoming a member of the Maquis.

The Bok'Nor was a 24th century Bok'Nor-type Cardassian freighter. The Bok'Nor delivered fourteen metric tons of golside ore to the Regulon system prior to its arrival at Deep Space 9, where it was docked at upper pylon 1. Shortly after its departure from the station, the Bok'Nor was destroyed by a protomatter implosion device planted on the ship's impulse engine, killing all 78 crew members aboard.

The Galadorans were a spacefaring species by the late 24th century. Their homeworld was Galador II. A ship allegedly being a Galador freighter left Deep Space 9. However, the Galdorans didn't have any ships in the Bajor sector, so the ship was identified as belonging to the Maquis.

Galador II is a planet, the homeworld of the Galadorans. By 2370, Galador freighters regularly operated between Galador II and Farius Prime.

The Gallamites are a spacefaring humanoid species. They have "toothy smiles", transparent skulls and brains twice the size of a human's. During the Dominion War, the Gallamites contributed duranium to the Federation.

Mercassium is a synthetic composite used in shield generator construction; a technology unshared outside of the Federation. Traces of mercassium were found in the debris of the Bok'Nor, which were later found to be from the casing of the explosive device used in destroying the freighter.

Rodinium is a common material used in Cardassian starship construction. The debris analysis of the Bok'Nor found remnants of rodinium.

Saltok IV is a planet in the Demilitarized Zone, and the site of a Federation colony. In 2370, Lieutenant Commander Calvin Hudson claimed that a Federation merchant ship fired upon by the Cardassians was transporting medical supplies to Saltok IV.

An SID was the codename for an emergency involving one of the ships outside Deep Space 9. During an SID, the station's engineering personnel would report to rescue stations. Major Kira Nerys declared an "SID in progress" following the destruction of the Cardassian freighter Bok'Nor. Unfortunately, the freighter was completely destroyed, with the loss of all hands.

The Volan colonies are colonies located in the Demilitarized Zone in the Volan system. Volan II and Volan III are part of the Volan colonies. Ropal City is located here.
