Hovath was a Bajoran who lived in a small village and was an understudy to the Sirah, a storyteller who drove away a mythical beast called the Dal'Rok which attacked the village once a year at harvest time.

This elderly Bajoran man was the Sirah
of a Bajoran village, led by magistrate Faren Kag, until
his death in 2369. He advised the magistrate to send out
a medical emergency call and request help from Deep
Space 9. In Chief Miles O'Brien he found his successor.
In the final night of the Dal'Rok he was very weak and
unable to fulfill his role as Sirah but assisted O'Brien
during the procedure. Shortly after the Dal'Rok was
defeated he died.

Navot were negotiating an agreement on DS9 in 2369, Nog saw
Varis, the Paqu negotiator, who was an attractive young
girl, and became instantly infatuated with her. Because
he was reluctant to meet her, he asked Jake if he could
arrange it. |

Faren Kag was the magistrate of a village on Bajor. In 2369, he contacted Deep Space 9's
commanding officer, Benjamin Sisko, at the request of
the Sirah and requested medical assistance. He believed
his village was in danger of extinction, but not from
plague or war; rather, if the Sirah died and was no
longer there to "tell the story", the Dal'Rok would
destroy the village. |

Woban was the leader of the Bajoran Navot village. In 2369 he visited Deep Space 9 to
negotiate a settlement over a boundary dispute with the
neighboring Paqu village, which almost turned into a
civil war. The Paqu and Navot territories were separated
by the Glyrhond River, which was diverted during the
Cardassian occupation, causing the Paqu to gain twenty
kilometers of territory previously owned by the Navot. |
