	Hilary Bader's original storyline was about an ongoing war between Cardassians and humans. Also, the character who died and was resurrected was at first going to be a previously-unseen crewmember.
	This is the first Deep Space Nine episode to feature the destuction of a runabout. Here, the Yangtzee Kiang is lost. Later vessels to be lost will include the Mekong, Ganges, Orinoco, and Yukon.
	Armin Shimerman (Quark) and Cirroc Lofton (Jake Sisko) do not appear in this episode.
	Kai Opaka dies in this episode. She later appears in "The Collaborator" and "Accession".
