	This episode marks the final reference to the Dominion before the Dominion finally being encountered in the last Season 2 episode, "The Jem'Hadar".
	The blooming sexual tension between Major Kira Nerys and Vedek Bareil Antos finally shows itself in this episode, as the couple share their first kiss.
	Freyla was a member of Deep Space 9's civilian population who worked in the assay office in 2370. In that year, she wanted Ensign Manwaring to ask her out, but the Starfleet officer thought she was in love with Lieutenant Strek.
	The Ghergher beast is a giant creature from Yaderan folklore. Taya told Odo a story about the Ghergher beast: "The Great Minra said to the evil changeling, "Well maybe you can turn into a mountain, or a Ghergher Beast, or a tornado... those are big things and big things are easy... but I bet you can't turn into something small...like a loaf of greenbread." And so the changeling said "Yes I can." and he did... and then the Great Minra gobbled him up."
	A Harrid berry is a plant native to a Gamma Quadrant planet, where a holographic Yaderan village is located. Taya picked some harrid berries and wanted to bring them to Odo, but in doing so she crossed the border of the holographic field and her arm disappeared.
	Kono was Quark and Rom's cousin. In 2370, he robbed a museum on Cardassia V. He attempted to board Deep Space 9 to sell the merchandise to his cousin, but, when contacted by the stations command crew, he beamed onto a departing Tellarite freighter.
	Yaderan holotechnology releases omicron particles.
	Colyus (or at least the hologram based on him) was a Yaderan Protector. He became Protector in the early 2360s.
	Seelee was a Bajoran deputy who served on Deep Space 9 in 2370. In that year, she was dating Lieutenant Strek. After Jadzia Dax told Odo about this, he noted that Seelee had seemed "distracted" and intended to talk to her once he returned to the station.
	Yaderan folklore states that Changelings can transform into tornadoes. In one story that Taya told Odo in 2370, the Great Minra tricked a Changeling by telling him tornadoes were easy to transform into.
	Yadera Prime, located in the Yadera system, Gamma Quadrant, is the homeworld of the Yaderan species. The planet was conquered by the Dominion at some point before 2340.
