	The term replicant, and the idea of an artificial life-form believing he's human, are trademarks of legendary science fiction writer Phillip K. Dick, best known as the author of the work that inspired the film Blade Runner.
	Ira Steven Behr discusses "Whispers": "I think 'Whispers' is a terrific show. There's something about the way it was shot and the point of view that made it into an episode that was really special, and obviously Colm is one of the strongest actors we have."
	Colm Meaney on playing his twin: "In order not to give away what was going on to the audience, we tried to keep him exactly the same, even though it was a different O'Brien. I played it exactly the way I usually do. It was only the circumstances around him that were weird and gave you the feeling that something else was going on."
	Writer Paul Coyle discusses his original pitch: "My original pitch to James Crocker involved O'Brien's waking up one day to find that Keiko and Molly were gone, and nobody on the station remembered him. There was no record that he had ever been there. And the computers reveal that there is a Miles O'Brien, but he's serving on the Enterprise somewhere far off. When we got to the break sessions, the staff decided that they didn't like any of the amnesia business. So everybody in the room brainstormed and somebody came up with the idea of doing The Parallax View, a Warren Beatty-starred suspense thriller from the 1970s, which was highlighted by strong accents of political paranoia as the central character attempts to unravel a dangerous mystery."
