Deep Space Station K-7 is located only one parsec from the nearest Klingon outpost, near to Sherman's Planet, in a region of space which was first chartered by John Burke in 2067. The station is compromised mostly of storage areas and industrial fabrication facilities, but even the most remote outpost has a bar.

LOCATION & DESIGN

It is a slow rotating station, with a central core from which three long arms extend. Near the top of the core is a large, round structure made of overlapping hull shells, and topping this is a conical structure with many windows. This may house lodging and recreational facilities for residents and visitors. At the end of each arm is a similar round structure, topped by a cone that resembles the one atop the main core. A running light can be seen on the apex of each cone, and the three lights on the arms blink; the one on the central core does not. A black opening in the round structure at the bottom of the central core may be a shuttle or docking bay.

Most of the station's interior comprises of storage compartments which can hold several tones of grain. Air flows in and out of the storage compartment through vents. A red ladder leads down into each compartment; the lower rungs are buried in the storage material. Normal access to the storage compartments is through sliding doors. Each one many be opened by setting a locking key against a sensor stud or pad at one edge of the sliding door.

As with any station, especially one so far from any other United Federation of Planets facility, one of the station's main attractions is its bar. In the bar drinks, souvenirs such as Tribbles, Spican flame gems, and Antarian glow water can be purchased. Despite its proximity to Klingon space, Klingon beverages such as Raktajino are not served here circa 2267, though Tarkalean tea, vodka and scotch are all available.
