Chief Miles O'Brien rebuked him for working on this without his permission, since he had discussed the security measures with the Paradans.
   
Fricandeau stew was a type of stew from Earth that includeds specially prepared veal (meat of a cow calf). Miles O'Brien was fond of fricandeau stew but his wife, Keiko, was not. When O'Brien was replaced by a replicant and his identity was uncertain, Keiko made the stew for him, along with endive salad and sweet flan for dessert.
   
Admiral Gupta visited Deep Space 9 on stardate 47552.9. The purpose of the Admiral's visit was to assess Cardassian movements along the DMZ. Gupta was later satisfied that the Cardassians would not break the Federation-Cardassian Treaty.
   
The USS Mekong was a Danube-class Federation starship assigned to Deep Space 9 as replacement for the USS Ganges.
   
The Parada system contained four planets, including Parada II and Parada IV. This star system was located in the Gamma Quadrant, 1 hour 14 minutes from the Bajoran wormhole, at maximum warp, aboard a Starfleet runabout.
   
Admiral Rollman was a Starfleet flag officer posted at Starbase 401 in 2369 and in 2370. Rollman previously appeared in "Past Prologue".
